La Basin d'Arcachon, north of Bordeaux, in France, is a beautiful bay with white sand beaches and immense sand dunes. Very close to the beaches, green forests stand guard, covering a huge area. The combination is breathtaking, and fun to explore. You can get to Arcachon by train from Bordeaux.
