Falling Stones has just won the
Juror's Commendation Award at the San Diego Watercolor Society. It is an acrylic painting, 24x19" (60x48cm). I started with an abstract background, inspired by a recent, quite painful, kidney stone episode. Then I painted a partial self-portrait.
Like Georgia O'Keefe said: "It is what I have done with where I have been that should be of interest." The transformation of silence and pain into language, action and color.
