TRANQUERA CORDOBESA, watercolor

Tranquera Cordobesa, watercolor, 11x14
I forgot to post this watercolor I painted as a demonstration for the San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild exhibition in January: REFLECTIONS. I did the demonstration on January 3rd, at Gallery 21, Spanish Village, Balboa Park, San Diego, California. If you didn't see it finished, and took my card with my Blog, here it is!!! Voila!!!

I was reading a quote by Pablo Picasso: "La Inspiracion existe, pero debe encontrarte trabajando."
"Inspiration exists, but it must find you working."

ARICA II, CHILE

Arica II, Chile, watercolor, 4x6
South America Cruise series # 20

Waiting to catch a taxi, standing in the corner in front of this awesome hill, I just HAD to draw it. So with my very fine pen, I drew what I saw on my watercolor paper, while my husband and friends tried to hail a taxi. My drawing done, the taxi arrived, and we went to visit some of the marks on the rocks, from the ancient inhabitants of the area. Later I put some color on the drawing...and listo! La montaƱa de Arica!

Don't forget to come SUNDAY, APRIL 14TH, TO THE RECEPTION AT GALLERY 21, SPANISH VILLAGE ART CENTER, BALBOA PARK, SAN DIEGO. 3:00-7:00PM. If you must, call in sick at work, ditch school, walk a hundred miles, and come see the show! Then, buy some paintings!

GUATEMALAN WOMEN, watercolor

Guatemalan Women, watercolor, 12x9
South American Cruise # 9

This is the 9th painting in the series of watercolors from my recent cruise to South America. As we arrived in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, a show had been prepared with men and women dressed in typical Guatemalan folkloric outfits. They were lovely!

Scroll down in start at the beginning. I will continue publishing these watercolors from my trip for a couple of weeks. All the originals will be in exhibition at Gallery 21, Spanish Village Art Center, Balboa Park, San Diego, California, from April 9 to 22nd. This show is in conjunction with Doreen Mellen ceramics.
