Last Thursday I attended a meeting of the United Society of Pastel Artists, in Orange County, California. Gary Blackwell did a demonstration of a pastel landscape, and shared some of his favorite phrases with us. Here are some of them:-- "There are no boring subjects, only boring artists." -- "When you don't know what you're doing you put it all in... later, you select the important." -- "Painting is easy when you don't know and very difficult when you do." Edgar Degas -- "Value does all the work and color gets all the glory."
El jueves pasado asisti a una reunion de la Sociedad de Artistas de Pastel en en Condado Orange, California. Gary Blackwell hizo una demostracion pintando un paisaje al pastel, y compartio frases favoritas. Aqui estan algunas de ellas: --"No hay sujetos aburridos, solo artistas aburridos." -- "Cuando no sabes lo que estas haciendo, lo pones todo...mas adelante, seleccionas lo que es importante." -- "Pintar es muy facil cuando no lo sabes hacer, y muy dificil cuando lo sabes."
