Serra's work is defiant and innovative. He utilizes industrial materials. In these sculptures, one has to move in and out and around very tall walls that snake and curve in different directions, giving us uncomfortable feelings of solitude, isolation, even claustrophobia!
En el Guggenheim en Bilbao, Espana, una de las exposiciones permanentes es "La Materia del Tiempo" de Richard Serra, instalada en el salon mas grande de este museo. El trabajo de Serra es desafiante e innovativo. Utiliza materiales industriales. En estas esculturas, uno debe moverse adentro, afuera y alrededor de paredes muy altas que se curvan en distintas direcciones dando nos a veces una sensacion muy incomoda de soledad, aislamiento, y hasta claustrophobia!
