La Hamaca, watercolor sketch, 5x7" (12x17 cm.) from 2008. Traditional work.
Today I'll talk about Nikki de Saint Phalle. I saw a documentary last night about her, and I saw a large exhibit of her work, in Rome, last November. She was extremely creative, and enjoyed large pieces. She said that she left her conservative family to live the free artist life, and then when she was successful, people like her family were buying her work and placing them in their conservative homes. She thought that was funny. Everybody loves her Nanas.
